In the 1998/99 academic year, she enrolled in the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, and graduated in 2004 from the Department of Biology and Ecology, majoring in Environmental Protection Ecologist. She earned her Master of Science in Biology Teaching Methods in 2009 by defending her master's thesis at the Department of Biology and Ecology in the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. She defended her doctoral dissertation entitled „Content and Mobility of Heavy Metals and Organic Compounds in the Tisa River Ecosystem” in 2014 at the University Studies, University of Belgrade. She earned her Doctor of Science degree in a multidisciplinary scientific field – environmental protection.

Snežana Štrbac's main area of research is the impact of global changes on the current and future geoecological state of the environment.
